My name is David J. Murphy. I was born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in Sarasota, Florida. After high school I joined the Marine Corps and learned how to be a photographer.

After leaving the Marine Corps I earned a bachelor's degree in photojournalism from Syracuse University. At SU I learned how to tell stories with my photos and I became a photojournalist.

I am currently living in Long Island, New York, and I continue to look for stories to tell and places to aim my camera.
